Login:

Before you can log into the site you need to register. Please notice that you need to register with a valid email address. A registration email is generated automatically and sent to you. After confirming the registration by clicking the link in the mail you will have full access to the forum and sessions section. You can decide your email from other users within the registration process. All mails are sent via jamwith.us mailserver and not directly. Please don`t respond to mailserver-mails. If you want to contact a member you can use the "mailing list" function in the sessions - section. If you load a session with dawsync, ftpsync or jamwith.us client you place a "lock" which is shown with the "Jam" function or the ftpsync functions. The email address which you use for locking is a publically available address. It is needed to grant contact between contributors and lockholder (i.e. if you forgot to unlock a session). It is highly recommended to use a valid email-address that you check often- but not really essential.

The Username should be the same username as in your ftpsync setup. The "Jam" function has a "delete lock" option which compares your Username with the lock - and allowes you to delete the lock without using cygwin-scripts.

The password is necessary  for sessions and forum. It is md5-encrypted and can`t be read by the admin. If you forgot your password - send a mail to the administrator.

If you are not logged in you are directed to the login site from all protected menues. After login you are directed to the forum. Select any item from the blue bar.

The chat function don`t need a password - and is free for everybody to access. Just type in a free nick.

Forum:

This is for discussions about the system and sessions and a meeting point for jammers. Please feel free to point to non ftpsync-sessions on other boards. If u have found any errors of the system - discuss it here.

Chat:

Easy permanent chat system with a log function - has the function of a "shoutbox" or chatting about sessions and life in general. There is a alert function (a very little speaker symbol at the buttom right) which sets an acoustic alert when someone posts a message.

active Projects:

This is the main functional section of jamwith.us! It evolved from Wil`s php-scripts for Rocketears.

In the first grey line you can see who is currently in the chat room. New allows you to add a new Jam and edit it. The List of active projects shows the lock status of all registered sessions. Del Locks deletes all your locks in all registered sessions. Mail allows you to send an email to the members. Select those who you want to inform and type the text into the message field. The mail will be sent by jamwith.us mailserver without telling your email adress.

NEW creates a new session info entry.

You can see a list of sessions. On top of the list there are 2 pulldown-menues. Jump to... jumps to the side of the selected session (if there is more then 1 side). Sort by... sorts by the selected item. The column is viewed in red.

The rows show the basic informations of a session followed by 1 - 2 buttons. If the session is private you only seea "request collab" button wich sends a mail to the session owner.

"Info" connects to the jaminfo site. Its only visible for public sessions and invited users.

The Jaminfo site shows the session owner, the session name and a picture. The second field shows the list of invited members if it is a "private" session; otherwise you see "public" in there. The next field shows the FTP-connection data for ftpsync sessions. "Session notice" is a field which can only be edited by the sessions owner. It allows 255 characters and some HTML tags. Session adds is a status-dependant field too. For private sessions all invited members can edit this field, for public sessions all members. The field can excess 255 chr. Basic HTML tags are allowed.

The actions field contains session-status dependant buttons.

The get functions ask to archive the current session, if there is one in the current folder. Then you are asked if you want to restore an older version from the local harddrive. Then the session files are downloaded. You don`t have to make any inputs to the cygwin window - except for restoring an archived session. Type in the number of the session you wanr to restore. At the end you need to hit any key to close the cygwin window.
