Howto be happy in 5 Steps:

Step 1

Download the last installer and execute it - follow the instructions

Step 2

Start the jamwith.us -client (Start/Programs/Dawsync/jamwithus)

On the top menu select Advanced/Diagnostics - follow the instructions. If it passes ok - your setup is ok. If not - get help from admin or chatroom.

Step 3

The installer created some folders

ftpsync_songs is the one all your local work is stored.

The current session (session you work with) is in the ftpsync_songs/current folder. If you started new the current folder is empty. To poulate it you may download your first session now:

Open the jamwith.us client. Click on the Jamwith.us logo to connect to the website. If you are noit registered yet - you have to register first. Else you can login with your username and password. After login click on >active Project< in the blue buttom menu. You get to the >List of active projects< site where all sessions are listed. Click on the yellow >Jam< button in the Test Song row.

If someone locks the session you see his name and an icon for sending him a mail. The >watch lock< button notifies you when the lock has gone. You can get a "listen only copy" without locking the session.

If there is no lock click on >get session<. A messagebox appears Got session data: Download now. - Click on yes. A little Window opens to show you the doownload progress by hash - marks (###)- don't type into that window until process completed occurs - then hit return with focus on the window. The window closes now. U have locked the session so you can work with it and it can`t be changed while you are recorording your tracks.

Step 4

Go to your ftpsync_songs/current folder (I created a link to my desktop) and open the Test song.all file with your DAW (Its a Cubase VST session - u can import in Cubase SX).

Do your recording - please dont change any existing tracks to respect the work of the others. You may mute tracks - but not delete or edit without the track-owners allowance.

When you are ready delete all unused local files by using the >delete unused data< function in the audiopool (See your DAW's manual). Store your work and close Cubase.

Step 5

Now click on >send session< at the jaminfo site. This will upload your version - indicated by the hash marks. When finished hit return. Your Lock is released and others can add now.

Be happy and put some comments by clicking on >info< in the jamlist.
